About The Region

Cordalba is part of the Wide Bay Burnett Region which covers a region of 52,377 square kilometres (20,223 sq mi). The area primarily consists of sugar cane farms and sugar mills, and the major centres include Bundaberg, Maryborough, Kingaroy, Hervey Bay and Gympie.

On the coast is the famous Fraser Island, which is the largest sand island in the world. The area is also well known for it’s fishing, with many bays and estuaries well stocked with a wide variety of fish and marine life.
